Happy September, from Enneagram Life!
🌻 This week was originally going to be the launch date for our final three devotionals, but unfortunately, there have been significant printing delays due to the pandemic. Our new launch date is October 26 and we’re so excited that these books will be able to be in your hands in time for the holidays!
Have you pre-ordered your copy of the Three, Five or Eight devotional?
Pre-orders make such a difference for books being available and are a really big deal. It shows retailers that they need to have more copies ready, which means more people will be able to grow towards health using the tool of the Enneagram. If you’re planning on getting this for yourself or as a gift for someone, pre-ordering ensures that you’ll have a copy as soon as they are available and that you’ll pay the lowest price it ever is prior to the launch day.
You can head here to pre-order your copy of the Three, Five or Eight devotional now.
🌻 This month we’re talking all about parental orientations. You can watch Elisabeth’s introduction video to parental orientations here. This is such rich, helpful information that comes from Elisabeth’s own research. If you haven’t checked out our current series, you can head here now.
🌻 If you’re local to the Pacific Northwest, you’re invited to the Fall Market that Elisabeth will be part of on Saturday, September 18 from 10-3 at Ebony and Ivory Coffee in Olympia, WA. She will be signing books and selling Enneagram merch. She can even help you clarify your typing, plus, she’d love to meet you! Head here for more information about this event.
🌻 We’re so excited that Youversion is offering a free 5 day sample of each of our Enneagram devotionals, and all of them (including our not-yet-released Three, Five and Eight devotionals) are now available. Head to the app and search “Enneagram” or head here to access them.
🌻 Just for fun this month, we asked our page hosts “what was the most exciting part of going back to school for you as a child?” We certainly aren’t assuming that everyone of that number will have had the same experience, but it felt fun to hear these responses.
From Becki, our 1ishandiknowit host: When I reflect on going back to school each year as a child my body tenses and I just remember the anxiety that I felt each year. I was a good student, but something about the transition back to school and walking into unexpected situations (in retrospect, where I didn't know what the expectations would be, so how could I meet them?) was incredibly stressful. But I did love to go shopping for new clothes with my mom and grandmother. I had so much trouble sleeping the night before the first day of school, but I also couldn't wait to wake up and put on my new favorite outfit.
From Madeline, our 2ishandiknowit host: Seeing my friends again, point blank 😂💙
We’re in transition with our 3ishandiknowit host, and we’re excited to introduce you to our newest facilitator next month!
From Kierra, our 4ishandiknowit host: The most exciting part about going back to school was without a doubt finally getting access to the school library again, so I could dive back in reading all the fantasy books 😊.
From Anna, our 5ishandiknowit host: I was home-schooled, so “back to school” wasn’t always a big deal since we did school basically year-round, until I was in college. But after breaks, my favorite part was definitely getting back into my favorite subjects and seeing all the new topics/books/curriculum we would explore. Very 5ish of me. 😂
From Katie, our 6ishandiknowit: I loved buying school supplies! I had to pick the perfect folders and notebooks so it always took me forever to decide 😂
From Nikola, our new 7ishandiknowit host: Seeing all my friends & buying fun new school supplies!
From Tracy, our 8ishandiknowit host: I loved school.
Looking back I loved school for the social abundance of activities and friends (hi 7 wing!) I had energy to burn. 😂 Go figure.
I adored the night that teachers would call your house to introduce themselves in elementary school. After that it was a mystery jigsaw puzzle to hassle your mom to call all your friends and find out if they were in your class.
(Believe what you want about 8s, I always loved my teachers and they loved me and I really wanted to please and impress them.)
And of course fun new supplies.
From Alison, our 9ishandiknowit host: I loved getting to start fresh with new school supplies each fall. I loved packing my backpack, and then taking everything out to look at it, and repacking my backpack again. It filled me with excitement. New office supplies still give me a thrill, even now.
I also liked the structure and order and clear expectations of school. Plus, I usually had small class sizes with familiar faces to return to.
🌻 AND…at the time of sending this, our devotional, The Guardian: Growing as an Enneagram 6 is on sale for 82% off the hardcover at $2.99 or the kindle at $2.89. I don’t know how long this amazing sale will last. At the price of a coffee, go snag a copy of this book about growing in courage for yourself or a Six you love!
Take care,
Alison
